The Worth of a Swing

A swing is magical to a nine-year-old. It is first and foremost a rocket ship, capable of transporting its rider to any number of worlds and even to places beyond the solar system.  It remains a quick get-away when being chased by aliens.

A swing is also the best method for exiting your pirate ship. How else could you jump from the deck to the beach with such elegant finesse? Unless, of course, you’re using it as a warp tunnel to reach magical worlds beyond your own realm. 

A swing is a high dive and a vine rope. (This is especially useful when swinging through the trees of a bottomless jungle.) It can be used as a prop for a grand music and dance performance when entertaining the king and queen.  Don’t forget about the pop music video you’re recording. The swing is a key part of the choreography. 

In fact, it is very difficult to be bored when you have a swing.
